Subject Description: The fragmentary head from a small statue probably depicts Queen Tiye. The double uraeui, the sacred cobras, attached to a fillet circling the heavy wig denote royalty, but were rarely shown on a queen's image. Queen Tiye was the powerful wife of Amunhotep III, father of the heretical pharaoh Akhenaten.
