Subject Description: The four gentlemen examine a landscape hanging scroll, held up by two servants. The painting presents an image of cultivated literati appreciating the traditional art form of painting in a garden setting. They are viewing Kakemono which is suspended by two servants from the branches of a flowering plum tree. The third servant brings another painting. A low rail surrounds the terrace.
