Pub Note: These land scrips and portrait of Anthony Dey were found with his personal papers, including Dey's copy of the Tanner 1826 Map of Mexico (see our #5176). The scrips have on them an impressive little map of southeastern Texas that shows the Galveston Bay & Texas Land Company's holdings, lithographed by the same E.S. Mesier that produced the rare and significant Map of the Southern Part of Texas of 1833 (Streeter Texas 1137).
