Context:
|
Native American cultures flourished in the Southwest section of the United States (Arizona, New Mexico) for over 2,000 years. The people lived in farming communities called pueblos, some of which are still inhabited today. Their finely made ceramics were created both for everyday use and for ceremonial occasions. The design painted onto this bowl relates to bird feathers used in these ceremonies. |
