Context:

Giant paratriangles of color form a cape with deliberate historical references. Multicolored capes began during or before the time of Old Testament Joseph; Reboux's color is purposely constrained. She achieved the crucial shape of the triangle - Brancusi's 'Bird in Space' is also a triangle - for the cape on the body. Laid flat, the cape is of a slightly irregular and ungainly shape, but Reboux has us direct our reading to the configuration on the body and not on the plane. |
