Context:
This storage jar possesses four small pierced lugs and a raised course line on the neck. It comes from the Paekche kilns to the west of Kaya, which also produced early stonewares. The body is relatively thick and less paddled than contemporary Kaya pieces. The mat grey surface of ash deposits on the upper body provides an appealing decor quite unlike the intensively worked, reddish kimhae body surfaces.
