Yang Ki-hun was a scholar-official renowned for painting and calligraphy. He served as court painter to King Kojong (ruled 1863-1907), providing a number of compositions for the northern palace at P'yongyang (modern capital of North Korea). This painting is an unusual, fine example of his work, which frequently depicts rocks and bamboo, or flower subjects.Attributed to Genga (Japanese, active early 1500s)
