Context:
Here Popova, the Russian avant-garde artist, attempts to define and structure space through an interaction of rectangular planes of color, which expand and rotate in all directions. She brings cosmic associations to bear through the suggestion of a glowing light that seems to emanate from between the dynamic planes.
