Subject Description:
Painting on paper in a variety of colors and black representing a standing woman turning her head to the left, her left hand held up within her sleeve, her right hand lifting the skirts of her kimono. The hair is very finely drawn in contrast to the boldsweeping lines of the outer kimono which has upon it a bold design of plum blossoms and pine boughs. The upper part of the garment is vermilion, the lower part, a deep toned grey-blue and the undergarment grey-green with a pattern of vines and leaves. Originally a kakemono. Mounted in dark blue and green, and teacolored silk.
