In the spectacular finale of the first part Danjuro V appears as the Buddhist deity Fudo, descending on a cloud flanked by his child attendants Kongara Doji (played by Bando Mitsugoro I, right) and Seitaka Doji (Nakamura Sukegoro II, left), to thwart theevil plans of Ikazuchi Shinno, Prince of Thunder (Sawamura Kijuro I, far left). Danjuro V as the deity Fudo was also portrayed by Shunsho in a hosoban print('The Actor's Image', 1994)
