Subject Description:
The anonymous, aristocratic young woman wears a hairstyle of entwined braids that was made popular by Sabina, the wife of Emperor Hadrian. The drilling of the eye pupil and iris, and the high polish of the skin surfaces are also hallmarks of the Hadrianic Period.
