Subject Description: 
Mahogany primary wood with oak back rail, maple back corner blocks and maple slip seat frame; two cabriole front legs with asymmetrical scroll and leaf carving on knees and brackets and terminating in hairy paw (5 front toes and one back toe) on flattened ball; back legs square in section and rounded corners and flaring to rear; shield-shaped splat cut with interlaced design and lozenge; splat fitted into one piece shoe; crest rail of central curve flanked by serpentine shape at each side; oak back rail with mahogany veneer (rail incised with 'V'); oak back rail with mahogany veneer.
