Maps have continents in outline hand color (some maps have selective full color), and show relief by hachures, settlements, major water features, etc. Half leather cover (brown), dark blue speckled boards, with orange label "Atlas des ganzen Erdkreises von C.G. Reichard. Weimar, in Verlage des L. Industrie Comptoirs. 1804." Franz Kohler (cited in Espenhorst, p. 227) notes that this is the first work by Reichard to use hachuring. The Landes-Industrie-Comptoir was founded by Justin Bertuch.

The maps in this atlas use the gnomonic projection, which is called the "Central Projection" on the atlas title page and the map titles. This projection enables accurate great circle measurements of distance between any two places on the maps, but distorts shape, scale, and area.
