With printed signatures of the authors and handwritten annotations, in pencil, delineating space within blocks and adding further information, such as names and numbers.

Plano catastral de la ciudad de Santiago, cadastral atlas of the city of Santiago, Chile. By Alcides Aray Santos; published in Santiago by Universo in 1915. Bound in board, covered in dark gray linen, with reinforced corners and spine. With marbled end papers on versos of front and back covers. Volume contains 41 double plates. First plate presents a full map of Santiago, indexed in reference to the 40 sheets that follow, each a closer view with greater detail for the indexed sections of this map. Individual sheets show streets, parks, plazas, drainage and buildings, including the university, churches, hospitals and private dwellings, featuring the names of property owners. Maps have compass roses, bar scales and scale statements, as well as legends that indicate the building materials for each structure. Maps stamped with “Inspeccion de la Asociacion Chilena de Aseguaradores contra Incendio Santiago” [= Inspection of the Chilean Association of Fire Insurers Santiago], and include printed signatures of the authors. Many of the maps have handwritten annotations delineating space within blocks and adding further information, such as names and numbers.
