TWA air routes in the United States, published by Trans World Airlines, Inc., 1951. Pocket-sized atlas featuring air routes across the United States. Volume comprised of six maps, including an index map indicating the geographic locations of the other five maps within the atlas. Each of the five main maps focuses on a segment of the continental United States. Together, the five maps span the central part of the country. Maps show cities, airports, air routes, highways, railways, topography, national parks, bodies of water, coastlines, islands and time zones. Each map accompanied by views of popular tourist sites, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Each map also has an inset index map indicating the geographic location of the main map within the United States. Maps include legends and descriptive text. Colored lithographs. Following maps are three segments of text, all relating to air travel. The final section of the atlas provides space for its owner to write their flight notes, such as locations of departure, arrival and dates.
