銀座界隈 [= Ginza kaiwai], artist book representing a stretch of road in the Ginza’s district of Tokyo, Japan. Published in Tokyo by 東峰書房 [= Tōhō Shobō] in 1954. Tōhō Shobō edition. Volume has covers in board, with accordian-folded contents: black and white photographs by Yoshikazu Suzuki, depicting the area with a continuous line of images. Images appear at both top and bottom of sheet, replicating the views on each side of the street, with images at bottom upside-down. Descriptive text in the central space of the sheet, between the images. Precursor to Ruscha's Every building on the Sunset Strip of 1966. Accompanied by a book of text, maps, illustrated and photographic views, authored and edited by 木村荘八編著 [= Shōhachi Kimura]. Latter volume housed in a slipcase, which appears next to artist book inside a cardboard box labeled with the title and imprint.
