[Atlas of Europe by Ct. Desjardins], published in Paris, circa 1843. Bound in board decorated with pink marbled paper. Leather spine with gilt spine title. End papers in navy and tan marbling. Volume comprised of eight maps on eight double leaves of plates. All maps represent Europe, each with a different theme, including political geography, hydrography, topography, ethnography, climate and vegetation. Maps show political boundaries, cities, topography, bodies of water, drainage, coastlines, islands and ocean currents. Descriptive text accompanies maps. Colored lithographs. Date of atlas inferred based upon the one date that appears in the volume, on the imprint for map entitled, “Esquisse des eaux et des montagnes de l'Europe”.
