Note:
An elegantly engraved atlas (many of the maps are engraved by Neele, who also engraved for Pinkerton). It has, alas, only one map of North America, which is an interesting mix of Pinkerton (1812) and Thompson (1814), and shows some of the preliminary Lewis and Clark information. Maps are without color, bound in new half leather tan marbled paper covered boards with "Playfair General Atlas. 1814" stamped in gilt on the spine.
