A facsimile reprint of Hans Konrad Gyger's 56 sheet map of the canton of Zurich, considered to be one of the best topographical maps made in the 17th century. See our 15416.000 for a facsimile of the painted version of this map. Commentary by Eduard Imhof. Published on the 300th anniversary of the first issue of the map in 1667. These drawn map sheets were the preliminary sketchs for the painting. More recent research has determined that these drawings may have been made later, from the originals.
