MOCKBA PEKOHCTPУИPУETCЯ : AЛЬБOМ ДИAГPAMM, TOПOCXEM И ФOTOГPAФИЙ ПO PEKOHCTPУKЦИИ ГOP, by Vsesoi︠u︡znyĭ nauchno-izdatelʹskiĭ institut izobrazitelʹnoĭ statistiki (Soviet Union) [= All-union Institute of Pictorial Statistics of Soviet Construction and Economy]. Published by the ИHCTИTУT ИЗOCTAT [= INTITUTE IZOSTAT) in Moscow, 1938. Title translates to: Moscow under reconstruction. Bound in board covered in blue cloth. Front cover has title debossed and an embossed vignette of a city scene. Back cover has text: ИHCTИTУT ИЗOCTAT [= INTITUTE IZOSTAT). Endpapers offer a view of the city skyline along the waterfront. Volume is 260 pages and contains 73 maps, 37 illustrations, 110 photographs, 41 diagrams and 3 portraits, including of Stalin. Through this variety of imagery, the atlas depicts Moscow’s reconstruction during the 1930s. Many images show scenes of Moscow both before and after reconstruction, illustrating the projected development over time. Some projections imagine as far ahead as 1945, with estimated growth of entities such as schools, canals and power plants. In addition to featured themes, maps also show city limits, railways, roads, metro-lines, bus-lines, canals, bodies of water, drainage, topography, vegetation and the outskirts of the city. Volume includes a title page, colophon, foreword and acknowledgments. Title page features the slogan, "ПPOЛETAPИИ BCEX CTPAH, COEДИHЯЙTECЬ!" [= Workers of the world, unite!], a rallying cry from The communist manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.
