Includes a handwritten title page. Manuscript school atlas of the world. Comprised of 44 maps drawn by a student. Maps shows select regions, cities, mountain ranges, deserts, drainage, coastlines, and islands. Focusing initially on rivers, watersheds, and notable geography in Europe, the atlas moves on to the rest of the world, including Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. Text in French. The atlas was created by French cartographer and publisher Auguste Logerot during his time at boarding school in Ivry-sur-Seine, France. Logerot’s professional career took place in Paris during the mid-19th century, where he created and published maps, including jigsaw puzzles. Within this atlas is a map of the Middle Rhine, signed “L. Lourdelet”, presumably a schoolmate.
