Note: First edition. This atlas was the first collaboration between Aaron Arrowsmith of London and Samuel Lewis of Philadelphia, one of the first such collaborations (and one of the few -- only David Burr and John Arrowsmith, and Henry Rogers and Keith Johnston come to mind). The title page says 63 maps in large type (some issues say 65 maps, all issues show 63 maps in the index). This atlas also accompanies the text volumes of the American edition of Pinkerton's Modern Geography published in Philadelphia by Conrad in 1804 (see our #3962). Phillips shows editions of 1804, 1805, 1812, and 1819. Uncolored maps bound into marble paper-covered boards with half leather.
