John Arrowsmith came from a long line of outstanding London map publishers. His maps of Australia were the best and most accurate maps published
commercially in his time. He based his information on the latest accounts from explorers. This map shows the area north and south of present day Sydney before
it was widely settled. The map was published separately and in Arrowsmith's London Atlas
of 1844. Full David Rumsey Map Collection Catalog Record: Author: Arrowsmith, John Date: 1844 Short Title: South Eastern Portion of Australia.
